Purpose

User Registration

Ontario Security Hub collects personal information to provide information relating to security training, testing and employment to all registered users. This includes users that are registered but not yet enrolled in any course. The course management system is managed solely by Ontario Security Hub through their website: https://ontariosecurityhub.ca/training hosted in Montreal, Canada.

Ontario Security Hub would never sell your personal information for commercial purposes.

Enrolled Users

For any user enrolled in any course delivered by Ontario Security Hub, personal information is collected in order to provide training in accordance with the Training and Testing Regulation made under the Private Security and Investigative Services Act, 2005 (“PSISA”). All personal information and any data submitted to the course management system by enrolled users is stored for two years from the user's first access to the site as per Ontario Regulation 434/07 Recordkeeping Requirements for Licensed Business Entities.

Enrolled users are required to submit the Consent and Release of Liability Form Regarding Training, Form 008-0148E which allows Ontario Security Hub to disclose personal information collected from or about me, including whether or not I have successfully completed the required training under the Training and Testing Regulation, to the Private Security and Investigative Services Branch of the Ministry of the Solicitor General for the purpose of determining whether I am eligible to be licensed as a security guard or private investigator, and for the purpose of administering the licensing system authorized under the PSISA.

Any user who selects Yes through their profile for "Can we share your name, partial postal code and contact information with potential employers?" will allow us to share the user's first name, last name, first 3 characters of their postal code, email address, phone number as listed on their profile and the date the user passed their Ministry test to any security company that has a login to the course management system. The purpose of sharing this information is for the security company to potentially employ the user as a security guard. The consent can be withdrawn at any time by the user by accessing their profile and changing the value to No. When an option is not selected for "Can we share your name, partial postal code and contact information with potential employers?" when first signing up, it is assumed no consent is given and the user's personal information will not be shared.
