In Ontario, you can complete the security guard training online and get your security license online. The only part that has to be completed in-person is the first aid training. After completing the online security guard training that follows the Ministry required curriculum, the first aid and passing the test, you can apply for your security license online. Service Ontario does not accept licencing applications in-person. The entire process from start to finish usually takes at least one month.
The Ministry also introduced online testing where security guard exams can be completed online. You would require a reliable internet connection, webcam and microphone to write the security exam from home.
